Infinite Care’s 133 units, on the top of a hill at Cornubia, ticked all the boxes for a facility in the code assessable low-density residential zone.

The facility met the code criteria as it is on 1.3 hectares of land and is designed over three levels and across eight wings.

It includes dining and lounge areas, a shared wellness centre, theatre room, function room and administration centre.

Councillor Darren Power, whose Division 10 covers the area, said despite the large number of units, the facility was in line with the purpose of the zone code.

“The code provides for predominantly dwelling houses supported by community uses and small-scale services that cater for local residents and this facility does all of that,” he said.

“Officers made sure it will provide levels of comfort, quiet, privacy and safety reasonably expected in a predominantly residential environment.

“I hope this will pave the way for the area to grow as a hub for services in health and aged care, which this area is seriously lacking.”

Security and technology will also be design features and the centre will include the latest in wi-fi technology and video cameras installed for internal and external security.

All bedrooms include ensuites and an extensive range of residential care services and options that cater from low-care needs, memory and dementia support, through to respite and palliative care.

Arrangements will be in place for visiting allied health professionals including physiotherapists, speech pathologists, dietitians and podiatrists.
