FLAGSTONE is ready to see the light. That’s the word from federal MP for Wright Scott Buchholz who secured $240,000 to put in lights at roundabouts on Homestead Dve at Poinciana and Coachwood Dve intersections.

Logan City Council built a footpath along a section of the road linking a proposed shopping precinct with the existing school.

The project will install LED lighting with smart controls for energy efficiency and the ability to manage and control lights remotely.

Mr Buchholz said the federal government and Logan council wanted to promote healthy, active and safe communities.

“Flagstone is a high growth, priority area and the Morrison Government’s Building Better Regions Fund is providing Logan City Council with the capacity to ensure areas such as Flagstone are ready for growth,” he said.

“In order to encourage walking and cycling — to school, to the park, or to the shops — there was a need for better pedestrian lighting,” he said.
