An Eagleby woman broke down in tears after realising she had bagged the lucky numbers and her days of rental nightmares would soon be over.

The woman said he husband had to work away from home but they were “not far away” from achieving great Australian dream and buying their first home after winning $1 million in last night’s Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto draw.

The Logan couple held one of the two Division 1 winning entries across Australia in draw 4183 with each Division 1 winning entry, scoring $1 million.

The winning woman said her emotions took over last night as she carefully crossed off all six winning numbers on her ticket and realised she’d become a millionaire.

The winning ticket was purchased at Tobacco Station Eagleby, 77 Fryar Rd, Eagleby.

“I always check my number after the draw. Last night, as I marked them off, I remember thinking, ‘oh I’ve got a few numbers here’,” she said.

“I’m getting emotional because it means we’ll finally be able to buy our own home after renting all our lives.

“To not have that stress around paying rent is going to be incredible, and my husband is nearing retirement, so it’s a huge weight off our shoulders.

“I’ve checked and rechecked the ticket all morning. I still just can’t believe this is my life.”

Tobacco Station Eagleby manager Rahul Khatri said it was “phenomenal” to sell his store’s first million-dollar Division 1 winning ticket.

“We’ve been so excited all morning!” he said.

“It’s fantastic for the customer, and there’s a real buzz around the store today.

“We want to congratulate the winners and wish them all the best in the future. We’re sure they’re going to have a fantastic life.”

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4183 on Wednesday 18 May 2022 were 17, 19, 14, 30, 12, 27, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 28.
