A woman who allegedly burnt down her partner’s Logan home has been charged with attempted murder and remains in hospital, with burns to 40 per cent of her body.
On the early morning of Saturday, February 10, 30-year-old Marsden woman Dusa David allegedly set fire to her partner’s unit in Meadowbrook.
Police were called to the University Drive home where she allegedly threatened her partner before setting fire to his unit.
The alleged victim was taken to hospital and received treatment for non-life-threatening burns to his hands.
Ms David remains in Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and received burns to 40 per cent of her body, heard Beenleigh Magistrates Court on February 12.
She was charged with attempted murder and arson (domestic violence offences) and could not appear in court.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Darrel Armfield said Ms David was still in hospital and the matter could not be dealt with today.
“She is still in hospital and we need to ascertain whether we can do a bedside hearing,” he said.
Magistrate Patrina Clohessy adjourned the matter to February 13 in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
“The defendant Ms David is remanded in custody to appear in person tomorrow, if available and not in hospital,” said Magistrate Clohessy.
