“That was a week ago and we haven’t seen her since,” he said.
Businesses had to stop the oil slick from getting into the drains with sandbags but it was a six days before police put a sticker on the car alerting people the vehicle was dumped.
The car is still on City Rd but police said it was legally parked after Logan City Council gave it parking permission to stay on the side of the road until July 10.
Police said rego checks found the car was not stolen and was properly registered.
It was the seventh police incident in the Beenleigh precinct in a week which included a ram raid of a jewellery store in nearby George St.
Police charged a 32-year-old Beenleigh man after watching CCTV video showing a man driving a stolen black Hyundai Accent through the front window of the George Street store.
The man was arrested and charged after police spotted him walking along George St wearing similar clothing to a person seen on the CCTV footage.
Police said they found items of suspected stolen jewellery, a small quantity of methylamphetamine and suboxone, and a knife.
The man’s phone was seized where police said they found child exploitation material.
He was also charged with offences related to breaking into cars in a carpark on George St and smashing the rear passenger window of a Toyota Corolla and stealing hand sanitiser, gloves and children’s toys.
Logan District Inspector Barry Smith said the charges reflect the district’s ongoing commitment to tracking down offenders engaged in alleged criminal activity.
“Officers across the District work tirelessly to ensure members of our community feel safe and secure, and this is another great example of police acting quickly to get an alleged offender off the street.”
