Wildest Aussie dashcam accidents

A vehicle has ploughed into a Logan op shop, with a witness saying it narrowly missed a car containing young children.

Jimboomba Police were called to the scene of an accident about 2.45pm Wednesday.

Police have confirmed a grey Mazda ran off the road and hit a fence near the Now and Zen Community Op Shop.

Shop owner and volunteer of five years Andy Mabey said she heard tyres screeching as the car entered the roundabout.

“I was in the shop with another staff member when we heard the screeching,” she said.

“Then we saw him veer off the road and hit the fence.

“There’s a lot of children around with it being school holidays and he narrowly missed hitting another car with a mum and young kids.

“The car is a complete write-off and just between the fence and a power pole. It didn’t quite make it to the shop front.”

Jimboomba police, paramedics and firefighters were all called to the scene.

Ms Mabey said everyone was in shock after the crash, including the driver.

“It was quite scary and really it could have been so much worse,” she said.

“Imagine if he had hit someone?

“He (the driver) and his mother are in shock and so are the rest of us.

“The fence and car are completely ruined.”
