Police charged a man after spotting him allegedly removing number plates from a car which had sped away from officers.

Police said they were watching a parked white Ford Falcon and were ready to question the driver about some dodge number plates when it took off at speed in Outlook st, Waterford on Thursday night.
They said they tried to pull up behind the Falcon but some people ran across the road and sped off in the car before they got the chance.

The car was seen swerving in front of oncoming traffic before it was dumped 4km away on a median strip in Kraatz Ave, Loganlea, a southside suburb notorious for hooning.
There was no chase but the police network located the Falcon.
Police will alleged that when they arrived at the address they were just in time to see a man trying to unscrew the back number plates from the vehicle before he ran into a nearby house.
A Loganlea man, 21, appeared in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today charged with a range of offences including driving without a licence and possessing cannabis.
