Devastated community mourns Kuraby crash victim Andre Baroutsis-Asdourian

The heartbroken partner of a young man killed in a car crash in Brisbane’s south has paid tribute to her “beautiful, caring” and “cheeky” best friend.

QLD's 2022 road toll described as "concerning"

A woman has been left “heartbroken” following the sudden passing of her partner and “best friend” who was killed in a car crash in Brisbane’s south last week.

Andre Baroutsis-Asdourian, 30, died following a single-car crash on Beenleigh Rd, Kuraby just after midnight Friday, September 23.

Initial investigations by police were said to indicate he was travelling westbound when his red Holden Commodore, of which he was the sole occupant, left the road and struck a light pole near Pioneer Dr.

Mr Baroutsis-Asdourian, a young Greek and Lebanese-Armenian man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His partner Sasha Wibrow said she had no words to explain the deep loss, except to say she is “absolutely heartbroken”.

“He is my best friend and my lover,” she said.

“He is a beautiful, caring, cheeky man with a heart of gold and he means the world to me.”

Ms Wibrow said she sadly did not take any photos of her partner during their time together, only videos, which ‘shattered’ her.

“Love you my babe always and forever,” she said.

“Life will never be the same.”

Mr Baroutsis-Asdourian’s tragic death has also left his single father ‘alone’ and devastated, prompting family friend Anthea Mavris to start a GoFundMe page.

“His father has now been left on his own and struggling financially, we are asking for some help, all your donations will be greatly appreciated and a big help for the family, to help with funeral costs and to lay this beautiful kind hearted young man to rest,” Ms Mavris said.

“He was loved dearly by many, and has a very big wog family, who are all now beside themselves.

“We loved him and (he was) taken way too soon.

“Such a beautiful young man, a part of our big crazy family and we all love and miss him dearly.”

Many of the young man’s loved ones took to social media in the days following the incident to express their love for him and their disbelief over what happened.

“My heart is breaking with this loss. I loved him like family and I will miss him every day. The world just became a little darker without him in it,” wrote Jade Burger.

Another Facebook user, Amanda Lee Ziebell, wrote that her children would “forever miss” their beloved uncle.

“Rest in peace Andy,” wrote a fourth person, Alice Akasha.

“This world didn't deserve you.”
