Kids can cycle along lined roads, through a roundabout and navigate common road signs, turning lanes, a pedestrian crossing and speed humps.

The park is uniquely designed to reflect the communities linked by Transurban Queensland’s motorways and tunnels, and includes about 200 metres of asphalt path with the look and feel of a real road including traffic signs and a roundabout.

Also today, work will continue on a 4700sqm modern, single-level PCYC building at Slacks Creek’s Cronulla Park.

It will enable the PCYC to deliver a range of services and activities from their after-school care program through to martial arts. It will include a gymnastics hall for up to 70 people – the largest in Logan.

Netballers at Underwood Park will also receive the keys to their new clubhouse.

The state government promised a $9 million transformation of Priestdale’s Underwood Park and knocked down and rebuilt the clubhouse for the Underwood Park Netball Association.

Works at Underwood Park at Priestdale, one of the state’s largest sporting precincts, were due to be completed last financial year.

Last year, Sports Minister Mick de Brenni said the works were delayed playing season and disruption to clubs., which are yet to start, would now be completed in February.

The Demeio cycle track is a legacy of the Transurban-led Logan Enhancement Project, and was designed and built in collaboration with the Logan City Council.

The road and cycle track in the park will be completed this month.

The park was entered into the Australia’s Best Playground Competition in 2016.

It features a unique climbing structure, that becomes completely enclosed for safety, a large green tunnel slide, colourful shade sails, bird nest swings, a flying fox, gazebos, basketball court, oval walking paths and open areas.

Logan also built a cycle park in Greenways Esplanade Park in Parkinson which opened last month.
