A new player in the property industry is giving property managers insight into the market.
LIDA (Australasia) — Landlord and Investor Database for Agents, has developed the first Landlord Report Card.
Landlords have had the ability to swap and change real estate agents and property managers but have not had information available about new landlords.
Property managers are often going in “blind” to the way landlords treat tenants, the property managers and their properties.
The report card gives information about landlords’ communication, response times, maintenance and tenant applications.
LIDA founder Marika Saliba said with commission rates throughout the country rising in competitiveness, it was often a minimal amount the agent collected each week to manage investment properties.
She said LIDA was focused on giving property managers the tools to decipher if their prospective landlord was an asset or, in fact, a liability.
Ms Saliba has also worked in the not-for-profit world, running and co-ordinating the Logan Car Show at PCYC, before being pulled back into the real estate industry.
“It is time to give some power back to the agents, and definitely make some landlords more accountable for their actions,” she said.
