Daniel Frank Price trial confirmed over Tamborine shotgun shooting

Text messages uncovered by police have secured a young man, alleged to have shot an occupied car at Tamborine in 2022, a trial at Beenleigh District Court.

The case of Logan young man, who allegedly fired a shotgun at four people inside a car in 2022, will go to trial following a committal hearing at Beenleigh Magistrates court.

Daniel Frank Price, 27, faces one charge of unlawful possession of a weapon, one charge of unlawful possession of explosives, one charge of unlawful stalking, one charge of entering a dwelling to commit, one charge of failure to properly dispose of a needle and four counts of breaching a bail condition .

The court heard Price allegedly fired a shotgun into a car with four people inside, in Tamborine on December 8, 2022.

Magistrate Eoin Mac Giolla Ri said police had uncovered a text message “admission” from Price that stated, “I shot these sh-t talking c--ts”.

A Police Sergeant said text messages uncovered by Queensland Police allegedly showed Price also saying “f--k the police” and “kill all cops”.

Defence lawyer Mark Williams withdrew his submission that there was “no case” after Price’s alleged text messages were shown to the court.

Magistrate Eoin Mac Giolla Ri said there was a case to answer to.

“You (Price) will have the option to give evidence in relation to the four charges,” Magistrate Eoin Mac Giolla Ri said.

“You are released today on bail with the same restrictions,” he said.

Price will appear before the court on April, 17 2024.
