COMPUTER problems have plagued the Logan electoral office after two candidates were left off the initial list of registered candidates and an incorrect form was printed out at the ballot draw.
A printout of the ballot draw for all eight Logan mayoral candidates incorrectly stated that voting for mayor would be “compulsory preferential”.

A spokesman for the Electoral Commission of Queensland said the error was concerning but had been rectified.
He said an error in the computer system resulted in the mistake and there was only one printout with the incorrect information and it was contained to the ballot draw office.
Voters in Logan will use optional preferential voting when marking their ballot for mayor.
That means they only have to mark one of the eight boxes on the ballot.
It will be optional preferential voting for councillors.
Returning officer for Logan Ray Langler said a computing error was also to blame for Logan Division 8’s Jacob Heremaia and Division 2’s Jackie Thompson initially being left off the final list of registered candidates.
Nominations closed at 12pm on Tuesday, March 3, when all names of registered candidates were to be disclosed online.
However, the computer glitch meant Mr Heremaia and Ms Thompson were not listed until names were updated on Wednesday, March 4.
