A LOGAN CITY Council staff member, employed most recently as chief of staff to the CEO directorate, has resigned from her position.
Kirby Orr confirmed her departure yesterday after almost two years on the job.
In February, Sharon Kelsey was sacked as Logan City Council CEO in a closed-door special meeting of council.
On March 26, Mayor Luke Smith was charged with official corruption and perjury.
Ms Orr, whose role included providing high-level strategic support and guidance to the Mayor, said her decision to leave was made before the council turmoil started.
“My decision to leave Logan City Council was not made lightly, as I have loved my time here and the opportunities it has given me,” she said.
“Having worked as council’s media and communications manager and then as chief of staff in the office of the CEO, I have certainly learnt a lot but I have made the decision to return to the media and communications sector.
“The acting CEO and I will determine a suitable finish date that is operationally suitable for the team, ensuring minimal disruption.”
A replacement is yet to be formally named.
