Cafe 63 reveals plans for new cafe south of Brisbane

Straight off the back of a heartbreaking closure, well-loved cafe brand Cafe 63 has revealed its plans to launch a new site very soon.

The first high-end restaurant to reopen after restrictions

PLANS are underway for the launch of one of state’s fastest growing cafe brands in a suburb south of Brisbane.

Brisbane-based cafe brand Cafe 63 will launch a new site at Beenleigh later this year, bringing the hope of new jobs with it.

The cafe — known for its extensive menu and long opening hours — is expected to open in October, however its location within the suburb is yet to be revealed.

It will be the first Cafe 63 in Logan, with the closest currently at Springwood.

Others include Springfield, Coomera, Chermside and Redbank Plains.

The addition of a new business brings welcome contrast to a steepening decline in cafe and restaurants following the economic pain COVID-19 has caused the industry over recent months.

The Cafe 63 brand itself was not immune to the pandemic fallout however, closing up its foundational store at 63 Racecourse Rd in Hamilton at the beginning of the month.

Cafe 63 founder Hamish Watson said closing the original Cafe 63 was a “hard decision” however had made way for progress in the wake of what has been a difficult few months for restaurateurs.

“Combining emotion and reality was the catalyst for the next stage of development,” Mr Watson said.

“Our focus on customers and our team meant we were able to make sacrifices now to enable a better future for Cafe 63.

“The Cafe 63 brand is all about what our customers want and need, combined with our ability to attract a team of great staff.

“We are looking to open more stores in the future throughout south east Queensland and nationally.

“We are opening in Beenleigh in October and hope to open in Mandurah, Western Australia at the same time.”
