Beenleigh could get its own hospital after a block of land in the middle of the southside suburb was put on the market today.
The 1.25hectare site at 45 York Street in Beenleigh is zoned for “integrated health” uses and alerady has development approval for a 126-bed high care nursing home facility.
Logan City Council has granted approval to buil the aged care facility on the northner half of the site, which is vacant and cleared land.
The site also has been granted a “Concept Development Scheme” for a 422-bed hospital and integrated health facility, aged care home, and post-acute care.
It is the only site in Beenleigh with the integrated health designation and a 32m allowable height limit.
The property is being marketed and sold via an expressions of interest campaign by Ray White Commercial Queensland Director and Head of Investment Sales Tom Barr.
“The city of Logan is one of the largest and fastest growing cities in Australia and this site is set to benefit from $18.9 billion of infrastructure investment in the pipeline,” Mr Barr Said.
“Alternate development opportunities include hospital, healthcare and medical services, retirement living and aged care, residential apartments, short-term accommodation, education, childcare centre, community care centre, function facility, indoor sport and recreation, parking station, and retail, all subject to council approval.
“The property benefits from outstanding public transport and road infrastructure connectivity with exceptional surrounding retail and lifestyle amenity.”
Beenleigh small businesses have struggled through the COVID lockdowns, with many moving out of the CBD area and City Rd to surrounding suburbs.
Logan City Council’s investment Arm, InvestLogan has completed the outside of the building of Beenleigh’s highest tower block in York St.
Construction was completed last month but the building is not finished.
Alder Constructions fostered training partnerships with Beenleigh State High School and Aboriginal-owned and managed company Red Rock Recruitment to offer 10 students and 13 indigenous construction workers hands-on work experience and employment at the commercial project.
The project holds special significance for the Logan district with $4.1 million of direct benefits and $10.6 million of indirect benefits expected to be generated.
