POLICE have launched an appeal to find the owner of a ring that was discovered on the floor of a Bayside supermarket.

This ring was handed in to Capalaba Police Station this morning after it was found lying on the floor of the IGA supermarket at Mount Cotton yesterday afternoon at 2pm.

In an unrelated incident, the IGA on Valley Way was the target of a ram raid early this morning that caused significant damage to the shop.

The small ring only measures 1.5cm in diameter.

Police are seeking to reunite the small ring with its rightful owner and said the woman who handed in the jewellery believed it could have been a “Shhh ring”.

Secrets Shhh is a jeweller that specialises in cheap stones that look like the real deal and offer a “diamond alternative”.

Anyone who thinks the ring could be theirs, is urged to contact police.

Bayside police said proof of ownership would be required.
