It will be the Logan Lionheart’s first bout since winning in round one against Roger Izon in August.
Leapai will be confronting the up and coming, undefeated Gorman on December 22.
Thornberry said it would be all hands on deck as he canvasses Leapai’s reliable sparring partners in preparation for fight night.
This would include a phone call to former NRL player turned boxer Solomon Haumono.
“We will be calling on some of our old sparring partners and get people rallying behind us,’’ Thornberry said.

“We are lucky we have been training and training hard, but we will need as much sparring as we can possibly fit in,’’ Thornberry added.
He said Leapai was excited to finally have a fight secured.
“He is ready to fight. He is really looking forward to it,’’ Thornberry said.
Leapai, who fought for the world heavy weight title against Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, will leave on December 16 for the pre-Christmas bout.
