Two pedestrians have been critically injured in separate incidents in Brisbane’s inner-city on Wednesday afternoon.

A 26-year-old man was critically injured when hit by a car in Windsor about 5pm.

Paramedics, including the High Acuity Response Unit were called to Lutwyche Rd in Windsor after the man was hit attempting to cross the southbound lanes.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a critical condition with a head injury.

A second patient, a 34-year-old man was also taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition suffering from emotional distress.

It comes after a pedestrian has been transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition after she was struck by a vehicle on a busy East Brisbane road.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said a woman, aged 27, sustained critical head injuries near the intersection of Stanley St and Fisher Lane just before 4pm.

Officers from the high acuity response unit were tasked to the scene alongside critical care paramedics.

Police have appealed for witnesses of both incidents, asking for anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit has begun investigation into both serious crashes.
