Hundreds of jobs will be created during the construction of a massive skyscraper in the next stage of the $1 billion Waterfront Park Newstead project, developers claim.

Plans for the 25-storey building at Skyring Tce were recently approved by Brisbane City Council, marking an exciting new step in property group Mirvac’s vision for a riverside community.

143 apartments and additional office space will be developed in the Sky Precinct, while 50 per cent of the 5552sqm site will be dedicated to open space.

Mirvac’s Head of Residential Stuart Penklis said the development would generate more than 1300 jobs.

He said the company was aiming to launch to the market in the first half of 2021.

“Time frames are yet to be finalised for construction and we are working on this detail as we move closer to launch,” Mr Penklis said.

“More than 50 per cent of our 5552sqm site will be dedicated to open space, which adjoins the popular Waterfront Park, meaning a significant expansion of the parkland.”

The first three stages of Waterfront Newstead have already been developed but a future stage, known as the Shore Precinct, is already in the works.
