This Wednesday evening, local businesses and residences will come together at Bar Spritz to fundraise for the ongoing Queensland Bushfire Appeal.

Countless Queensland residents have been bracing for the worst as the heatwaves and fires continue to burn.

Sam Coco Trading and other altruistic businesses felt there was a need to do something to help the fire victims.

Sam Cocos director Chris Butters, a regular on the charity scene, said he had been moved by the plight of fire victims this summer.

“A group of like-minded friends and myself have decided we had to do something,’’ Mr Butters said.

“People are losing literally everything, walking away with nothing more than the clothes on their backs in many cases.”

“The victims are now in their hundreds and it’s only just the start of the bushfire season.’’

Auction items and raffle prizes have been generously donated by selfless businesses including Bar Spritz, Ferrari Brisbane, Starfire Jewellery, Cloud 8 Karaoke, Style Media, Lisa Lockland-Bell, QUT Creative Enterprise Australia, Fightcross, Jumbo Thai Restaurant & Bar, Being Monki, RiverGold Realty, Terry White Chemist Pacific Pines, Carstyle Crew, Peter Daniel, Aquis Park, Dinos Kountouras, 1ICT, Hendrix Photography, Ella Moda and Tracie Eaton Artist.

All proceeds go to GIVIT, an online charity which matches people in need with donors who can help them.
