The mother of a Brisbane teenager who died in a crash at Cedar Vale has paid tribute to her “very handsome” son who “was a kind soul”.

It is understood Callum Blyth-Peters, of Calamvale, had only held his learner’s driver’s licence for about a week before the tragic accident at Logan.

Police said the 19-year-old and his father were taking a driving lesson when the accident occurred on the Mount Lindesay Highway, Cedar Vale, about 11am.

An off-duty paramedic came to the teen’s aid and gave medical assistance.

He tragically died at the scene.

Kerry Blyth has since launched a campaign to try and fund her son’s funeral.

The grieving mother said her son was “a kind soul” who was there for all of his friends and loved everyone.

“He was smart and very handsome,” she wrote.

“With very a lovely lock of hair, f***ing fabulous hair.”

She said the 19-year-old was always thankful “for the things and people he had around him”.

“He would always make time for anyone who needed him and went out his way to help others,” Ms Blyth wrote.

“I loved him with the most incredible hard love that you can possibly imagine.”

So far, 58 donors have contributed $4335 to the fundraising campaign.

Mr Blyth-Peters was living at Calamvale at the time and is a graduate of St Laurence’s College, on Brisbane’s southside.

An old friend of Callum’s shared a tribute message via social media on Monday.

“Fly high Callum,” she said.

“Although we haven’t seen each other in a long time, I will always treasure the years of friendship we shared when we were younger.

“You will be forever missed. Another life taken too soon.

“Rest in peace.”
