A Brisbane Taylor Swift look-alike has revealed stories of fans swarming her in the streets and at concerts, needing security assistance and encounters with the star’s inner circle ahead of the highly anticipated Era’s Tour.
Teegan Jarratt, 25, from Collingwood Park has been chased down streets, escorted by security at stadiums and even featured on Swift’s makeup artists Instagram all due to her overwhelming likeness to Swift.
Ms Jarratt said the hype first began when she visited Los Angeles in 2015 and was approached by adoring Swift fans who confused her for the singer.
“I had never thought of myself as looking like Taylor, I was pretty shocked,” Miss Jarratt said.
“When I came back to Australia I was getting stopped in shopping centres and when someone asked me to dress at Taylor for their daughter’s birthday party I began my business ‘Tay Tay Parties’ where I would dress as her and sing at children’s parties,” she said.
Despite Miss Jarratt changing her career path and now pursuing a personal training business, her admiration of Swift continues as she excitedly prepares her look for The Era’s Tour tomorrow night.
“When I went to Taylor’s Reputation Tour in Brisbane in 2019 I was absolutely swarmed by fans who thought I was her,” Miss Jarratt said.
“I had to get security to help me because it all got quite hectic.
“Security helped people line up to take photos with me.
“At the show Taylor’s makeup artist took a sneaky photo of me and put it on her Instagram story which helped me meet Taylor’s mum and her guitarist which was pretty amazing,” she said.
Miss Jarratt said she was prepared for interactions with fans tomorrow at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
“I have three outfits from different eras I’m trying to pick between, I usually just wack on some red lipstick and I’m good to go,” Miss Jarratt said.
“It’ll depend how I feel on the day but I’ve got a gold dress like she wears in Fearless, a black two piece for the Midnight era and a ‘not a lot going on at the moment’ T-shirt from the Red era,” she said.
She will be attending the concert with her husband and described their mini vacation as a “well deserved holiday” away from their two children aged three and six months.
“I’ve been a huge Taylor fan since I was about nine years old, I first heard her when my nan was line dancing to one of her songs and I loved it,” Miss Jarratt said.
“She has helped me through heartbreak and depression, her music cheers me up and makes me feel like I can do anything.
“She’s become so massive all over the world and I’m so excited to see her again,” she said.
