It is understood that on Monday, February 7, Brisbane man Andrew Farrenden, 30, passed away.

Since then the local football club community has been paying tribute to the devastating loss.

“Farrenden, 30, played in the Tigers Mal Meninga and Colts sides from 2010 to 2011.

“Thoughts and prayers are with Andrew’s wife Jo, two girls Adeline and Emilia, and his wider family and friends.”

Andrew’s brother, Michael Farrenden, also shared a touching tribute.

“Not only are you my brother, my best mate and someone I could speak to about anything.

“You were the best father to Adeline and Emilia, a great husband to Joanna and a great son to mum and dad,” he said.

“Words cannot describe the heartache I feel right now nor can I understand it.

“But I know that you will be there to look after us and your girls just gained another guardian angel. I will remind the girls who you were and how you could light up a room by just being there every chance I can get.

“I promise to be there for the girls for whatever they need. Until we meet again, love you always and forever. Rest easy.”

Candice Palmer-Levitt, a friend from ‘Mum’s Group’, started a Go Fund Me page for Andrew’s wife Joanna Farrenden and their two girls.

“Taken way too soon, we will miss you at mum’s group at school, but will make mum’s group a tradition in your name,” she said.

“To my good friend Joanna Farrenden we love you and the girls and are thinking of you.

“I have made a GoFundMe page for anyone who would like to donate to help the family over this time.

“Until next Mum’s club Andrew have a beer up there.”

In just a matter of days the Go Fund Me page has raised over $7000 through over 80 donations.

The Rochedale Tigers RLFC shared photos of a younger Andrew and a tribute.

“This year he was coming back to coach one of our international teams, but sadly lost his life this week.

“We send our condolences to his family, we are all thinking of you at this sad time and sending our love.”
