The new benchmarks for nearly 1400 Queensland university courses can be revealed ranging from ATAR cut offs as low as 30 and as high as 99.85.
The Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre has released most of the university offers for the year now, even after a delay and debacle with the January offer round.
After a four-day delay, just over 15,000 tertiary offers across 1326 different courses were released on Monday, taking the total number of offers for 2024 study to 43,350.
But it wasn’t without further controversy, with system issues and technical faults meaning some students still had not received their offers by Monday night due to a system backlog.
Health courses dominated again with almost 6000 offers on Monday – including dental, nursing, sports science, medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science, and speech pathology.
The most popular courses for the main January offer round were UQ’s Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Paramedic Science at QUT, and UQ’s Bachelor of Engineering.
The courses with the highest ATAR benchmarks in 2024 are:
- Griffith University’s Bachelor of Medical Science (Nathan campus) – 99.85 ATAR
- University of the Sunshine Coast’s Bachelor of Medicine – 99.8 ATAR
- Griffith University’s Bachelor of Medical Science (Gold Coast campus) – 99.8 ATAR
- QUT’s Bachelor of Medical Imaging (Honours) – 99.1 ATAR
- UQ’s Bachelor of Humanities/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) – 99 ATAR
- UQ’s Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) – 99 ATAR
- Griffith University’s Bachelor of Dental Hygiene – 99 ATAR
- Southern Cross University’s Bachelor of Midwifery (Gold Coast campus) – 99 ATAR
The courses with some of the lowest ATARs required for entry included nursing diplomas at various institutions (as low as 30 ATAR) while some lower Bachelor courses included Commerce and Business at James Cook University (59 ATAR) and Arts, Communication, Urban Design/Town Planning and Human Services at Sunshine Coast University (50 ATAR).
Some institutions may still provide updates to the 2024 information. In this case, QTAC is still waiting on updates from the University of New England and QUT. Any changes will be published on the QTAC website.
