Ipswich Grammar School, Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School and St Peters Lutheran College in Springfield are Ipswich’s top three NAPLAN schools in 2024.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2024 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests.

Ipswich Grammar School, a boys’ campus, had the best primary results for any school in the region, scoring an average of 581.0.

St Peters Lutheran College in Springfield Central was the second best for the region with an average score of 539.8, while Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School was the third best with an average score of 534.6.

The top performing secondary school also was Ipswich Grammar School, which posted an average result of 625.6.

Ipswich Girls’ Grammar School was the second best for the region with an average score of 618.2, while St Peters Lutheran College was the third best with an average score of 600.8.

To determine how each school performed in 2024, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (Yr 5 or Yr 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
