Fraser Coast’s fastest growing schools - and the ones going backwards - have been revealed.
An analysis of federal government data has revealed every Fraser Coast region school’s student enrolment trajectory over the past five years - exposing where student numbers have risen and declined the most.
Coalstoun Lakes State School in Coalstoun Lakes is Fraser Coast’s fastest growing school, with enrolments increasing by 160 per cent in the five years from 2018 to 2022.
The second fastest growing school was Tiaro State School in Tiaro with a 79 per cent change while Bayside Christian College Hervey Bay in Urraween recorded the third biggest change with a 72 per cent increase.

Meanwhile, the analysis also highlighted the Fraser Coast region’s schools in decline with Torquay State School in Torquay recording a 43 per cent drop over five years.
Torbanlea State School in Torbanlea was the second school going backwards for enrolment with a 40 per cent drop and Aldridge State High School in Maryborough was third with a 36 per cent decline.

The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority figures are the most up to date enrolment numbers that include all state and private schools nationally.

Coalstoun Lakes State School: 160 per cent
Tiaro State School: 79 per cent
Bayside Christian College Hervey Bay: 72 per cent
Maryborough State High School: 52 per cent
Howard State School: 50 per cent
Riverside Christian College: 49 per cent
Hervey Bay State High School: 29 per cent
St James Lutheran College: 19 per cent
St Mary’s Primary School: 19 per cent
Xavier Catholic College: 18 per cent

Torquay State School: 43 per cent
Torbanlea State School: 40 per cent
Aldridge State High School: 36 per cent
Dallarnil State School: 35 per cent
Urangan Point State School: 34 per cent
Bauple State School: 28 per cent
Maryborough Central State School: 26 per cent
Gundiah State School: 21 per cent
Mungar State School: 21 per cent
