Queensland’s eight public Grammar schools raked in an operating income of more than $325 million last year, and posted a combined profit of more than $20 million.

Compared to 2021, the eight schools made about $19 million less and registered a combined income of $306 million, but their profit was similar – $19.7 million.

The Courier-Mail analysed the eight schools’ financial statements contained within their 2022 annual reports, which were tabled last week through Queensland parliament.

Brisbane Grammar School had the highest 2022 operating income, more than $70 million, but Brisbane Girls Grammar School posted the highest operating profit – in excess of $9 million.

The Rockhampton Grammar School managed the greatest revenue increase from 2021 to 2022, with the central Queensland school generating an extra $3.7 million last year.

In the following analysis, The Courier-Mail chose to not include every source of the schools’ income, but rather, highlight the main revenue streams and provide totals.
