Naplan results 2023: How Roma schools performed

We’ve crunched the numbers to reveal which schools performed the best in NAPLAN across Roma and surrounds this year. Check out the results in our interactive map.

Why you can’t compare 2023 NAPLAN results to previous years

Bell State School and Meandarra State School are South West Queensland’s top performing NAPLAN schools.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the year 5 and year 9 tests.

Meandarra State School, in Meandarra, had the best primary results in South West Queensland, scoring an average of 513.0 this year.

Moonie State School in Moonie was the second best for the region with an average score of 512.0, while Teelba State School in Teelba was the third best with an average score of 511.4.

The top performing secondary school was Bell State School, in Bell, where the average result was 581.2.

Border Rivers Christian College in Goondiwindi was the second best for the region with an average score of 574.0, while Dalby Christian College in Dalby was the third best with an average score of 572.6.

To determine how each school performed in 2023, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (year 5 or year 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the federal government’s MySchool website.
