Naplan results 2023: How Gympie’s schools performed

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests across the Gympie region. See the results:

Cooloola Christian College and Dagun State School are Gympie’s top performing NAPLAN schools of 2023.

An independent analysis of newly-released 2023 NAPLAN results has revealed the schools which performed the best in the Year 5 and Year 9 tests.

Dagun State School had the best primary results of all primary schools in the Gympie, scoring an average of 510.0 this year.

St Patrick’s Primary School was the second best for the region with an average score of 490.0, while Tin Can Bay State School was the third best with an average score of 474.2.

The top performing secondary school was Cooloola Christian College, in Gympie, where the average result was 576.2.

St Patrick’s College was the second best for the region with an average score of 548.6, while Victory College was the third best with an average score of 547.0.

To determine how each school performed in 2023, the scores for all five test subjects for the student cohort (Yr 5 or Yr 9) were combined and the average found.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.
