The principal of a state school in Brisbane’s north has had children and parents in stitches with his “lit” video presentation to reveal a new library refurbishment.
Zan Branford of Northgate State School decided the best cut-through with his audience of young children and their parents at the school’s final assembly of the year was to adopt some Gen Z language, and it seems to have paid off.
Mr Branford had the entire hall in hysterics as his attempts to show how “fit” the new “lit” library refurbishments were.
Paid for entirely by the fundraising efforts of the schoolchildren and the P&C, with the help of Member for Nudgee Leanne Linard and Northgate Ward Councillor Adam Allan, the new-look library space features bespoke “log” couches that fit in with the jungle theme of the decor and shelving.
Mr Branford said the tongue-in-cheek video, which came with helpful subtitles to translate what he was saying, was the best way to get people’s attention in order to showcase hard work done by the school’s P&C and the students to raise the money that paid for the work to be done.
