Two high-priced bayside colleges have been rocked by allegations that one of its female students was sexually assaulted by another student.
A boy at Moreton Bay Boys’ College is accused of sexually assaulting a girl from its twin school Moreton Bay College.
The boy is alleged to have laid on top of the girl and fondled her breasts.
It’s also alleged that he dragged the girl up a flight of stairs.
In addition, the boy is accused of exposing himself in front of her and sending inappropriate text messages.
Moreton Bay Colleges’ executive principal Richard Henry said the allegations of “inappropriate behaviour” had been reported to Queensland Police and Child Safety services.
In a statement, Mr Henry said the college took immediate action as soon as it became aware of the allegations.
“The colleges have offered counselling and support to the students and their families, as well as to other members of the school community,” Mr Henry said.
“The pastoral care leaders and all staff at the colleges work hard to ensure that inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated.
“The colleges have robust systems in place to ensure that inappropriate behaviour is reported and acted upon.”
Mr Henry said its students’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing was central to its purpose and that it would “continue to focus on maintaining the standards of care provided”.
A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed the school had passed on information regarding the allegations and that it was being investigated.
A police spokeswoman said the officers from the Bayside Child Protection and Investigation Unit had encouraged anyone with information that may assist investigations to contact police.
Moreton Bay College charges parents annual fees of between $17,000-$18,000 while the boys college charges between $14,000-$15,000.
