The long-time home of one of the Gold Coast’s most famous surf brands is on the market.

It was last sold in 1990.

A spokesman for the company said it would continue but was not able to disclose where it would move to.

The building, part of a vacant possession sale, will be put to auction on July 3 at the Gold Coast Turf Club, with Ray White Commercial’s Matt Taylor and Jackson Rameau marketing the property.

Mr Rameau said there had been significant local and interstate interest in the property.

“It’s incredibly rare to find a site of this scale and exposure on the southern Gold Coast, especially one tied to such a beloved brand that will be vacating the premises and relocating,” he said

“The corner positioned, dual title, and low-impact industry zoning make it ideal for owner-occupiers, investors or developers looking to land bank or reposition.”

The site, on the edge of the Currumbin Waters industrial zone, also fronts Hayter St and is earmarked for “low-impact industrial”.

Mount Woodgee Surfboards have been a well-known brand in the region since the 1970s.

They have been used by prominent surfers including Bede Durbidge, three-time masters champion Gary “Kong” Elkerton and Jason Buttenshaw.

Mr Taylor said the site had a long history on the Gold Coast.

“Mount Woodgee is a piece of surfing history, and its headquarters has been a landmark in Currumbin for decades,” he said.

“This is a chance to secure a cornerstone site with deep local roots and incredible future upside.”
