TRINITY Park has rocketed to the top of the list for multimillion-dollar home sales in Cairns after taking out three of the top four slots so far in 2021.
It has been an extraordinary year for the city’s real estate market with southern investors – particularly from Sydney and Melbourne – driving up prices as they snap up properties.
Demand for properties in Cairns has soared with interstate inquiries through the roof, but there has been no shortage of wealthy locals adding top-end assets to their portfolios.
Research into the top 10 sales of the year so far reveal some of the most exclusive properties have sold to notable Far Northerners.
Lankester Bananas owners Michael and Lisa Lankester sold their banana, avocado and custard apple farm at Walkamin in May for $11.5m to Sydney restaurateurs Andrew and Geraldine Coulson.
The Lankesters have put their profits to good use, buying the city’s priciest home of the past nine months for $2.95m.

Husband-and-wife rally car champions Ross and Lisa Dunkerton’s former Trinity Park home took out the number two slot after selling to Evelyn Mahony and husband Derek from Ray White Northern Beaches.
NQ Petro managing director Craig Cygler and wife Anece, entrepreneurs Suzi and Leo Conti, Python Plumbing owners Joel and Sophie Matar and Ramayana Loveridge, wife of surgeon Dr Jeremy Loveridge, also made the cut.
