Eric Trump has incredulously claimed that his father’s presidency could bring peace to the Middle East in “just two seconds”.
His remarks aired just hours after Donald Trump told a gathering of Republican Jews that Israel’s survival would be threatened if Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris became president.
“I will work with you to make sure Israel is with us for thousands of years,” the 78-year-old Republican nominee said.
“If they win, Israel is gone … you can forget about Israel, that’s what’s going to happen.”
In a world exclusive sit-down interview with Sky News presenter Erin Molan, Eric claimed “the world was at peace” when his father occupied the White House from 2016-2020.
“There were no games under my father. You had peace in the Middle East, you had no Russia-Ukraine conflict, the world was at peace,” Eric, Executive Vice President of the Trump Organisation, told Molan.
“He was getting America out of wars because he didn’t want wars.
“(Donald) can solve the problems in the Middle East in about two seconds. He’s done it before. He will bring peace to the Middle East.
“He will solve the problem between Ukraine and Russia in about two seconds as well.”
Eric Trump and his wife, Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump, who spoke to Molan at Florida’s Trump National Golf Club Jupiter, detailed their horror of watching the former President’s assassination attempt at a rally live on television.
They said he was a devoted “family man”, who adored his grandkids.
“This is a guy who has literally the weight of the world on his shoulders, has people attacking him constantly, who has so many distractions,” Lara said.
“And yet the moment when our kids walk in the room it’s the only thing he wants to do. He wants to be with them.
“He wants to give him as much candy and soda as he can and then send them back to us.”
Eric is convinced his father will win the November 5 poll in what he termed “the greatest comeback”.
“Trust me, the last thing that our family needs to be doing is getting shot at every single day, having systems get weaponised against you, being attacked ruthlessly, having the press go after you,” he said.
“But once he sets his eyes on something, he goes for it. And he’s relentless in that pursuit, and I think that’s a beautiful thing.”
