‘Slender Man’ stabber Morgan Geyser caught after escaping

Police have captured Morgan Geyser, the young woman who brutally stabbed a classmate at age 12, after she dramatically escaped.

Escaped “Slender Man” stabber Morgan Geyser refused to give her name when she was nabbed by cops after allegedly cutting off her ankle bracelet and fleeing her group home — telling them to “just Google” her because she has “done something really bad,” according to a report.

Geyser, 23, was picked up in Posen, Illinois, more than 150 miles (240km) away from their Wisconsin group home with a 42-year-old female accomplice, who agreed to run away because she didn’t want her to be alone, CBS News reported.

The “adult accomplice” was sleeping on a sidewalk with her best friend Geyser when they were found Sunday afternoon — more than a day after the notorious stabber cut off her ankle bracelet and bolted from the home she’d been living since her release from a psychiatric facility in March, the New York Post reports.

The accomplice claimed the two had taken a bus to Chicago, before walking 20 miles (32km) south to Posen, where they were forced to stop walking when Geyser injured her foot.

She said police told her Geyser would be sent back to the Winnebago Mental Health Institute following her extradition hearing.

They were arrested around 1pm Sunday after officers responded to a report of two people loitering behind the truck stop, and found the two sleeping on the sidewalk.

Geyser initially gave police a false name and said she didn’t want to tell cops who she was because she had “done something really bad,” according to CBS News.

She said officers could “just Google” her to find out who she was.

Police in Madison were not aware that Geyser had left the group home until nearly 12 hours after her escape, CBS News reported.

On Saturday night, an alert that Geyser’s ankle tag had malfunctioned was received by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.

Around two hours later, they contacted the group home and were told she had removed the monitor and wasn’t in the home, Madison Police said.

Geyser was just 12 years old when, in 2014, she and her friend, Anissa Weier tortured fellow classmate Payton Leutner in the woods near their home in suburban Milwaukee.

The pair claimed they stabbed the girl 19 times in an attempt to please “Slender Man,” a fictional internet bogeyman.

Geyser carried out the stabbing while Weier egged her on, according to prosecutors.

They told investigators that they wanted to be Slender Man’s servants, and feared he would harm their families if they didn’t carry out the attack.

The two planned to walk to Slender Man’s home in northern Wisconsin after the attack.

Leutner was able to crawl to a nearby cycle route where she was spotted by a passer-by and ultimately survived.

Geyser and Weier were arrested shortly afterward walking along I-94.

In 2017, Geyser pleaded guilty to being a party to attempted first-degree intentional homicide, but claimed she wasn’t responsible because she was mentally ill.

A judge committed her to 40 years in a psychiatric hospital by a judge in 2018, while Weier pleaded guilty to being a party to attempted second-degree intentional homicide with a dangerous weapon and was committed to 25 years in a mental ward.

Weier was granted release in 2021 after agreeing to live with her father, and still wears a GPS monitor.

The Posen and Madison Police Departments did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
