Vladimir Putin has declared Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is “going to plan”

The glamorous rich kids of Russia are taking to social media to urge dictator Vladimir Putin to stop the war on Ukraine.

The daughters of cashed-up Russian oligarchs and political power players – some of whom have close personal ties to Putin himself – have taken to Instagram, using their social media influence to try and stop more bloodshed.

Among them are several socialites and Instagram influencers boasting hundreds of thousands of followers, who are the children of influential Russian moguls and political identities – and even the granddaughter of the late Russian president, Boris Yeltsin.

Elizaveta Dmitrievna, the daughter of Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov, made her anti-Russian violence stance known on Instagram.

Known for her jetsetting lifestyle, Elizaveta denounced Russia’s war on Ukraine to her 300,000 followers on Instagram.

Known as @lisa_peskova on the social media site, she shared news coverage of the Ukraine and Russia conflict, including reposting a video from The Guardian which stated: “This war is so unfair, so unhuman, so unforgivable”, as well as Instagram posts declaring “no to the war”.

She has previously made controversial comments about her family, including a post – translated from Russian – where she reportedly said: “I am Peskova Elizaveta Dmitrievna, daughter of the chief billionaire and thief of the country, press secretary of the head of state. This is the first text that I write myself. All the rest are custom.”

Maria Yumasheva, the daughter of Russian government adviser Valentin Yumashev and granddaughter of Yeltsin, also voiced her support for Ukraine.

Her father is considered a close confidant of Putin and credited with helping ascend to political power in Russia.

She posted an image of the blue and yellow Ukrainian flag, disabling comments under the post to her nearly 10,000 followers.

Valentin also worked closely with former Russian president, Yeltsin, of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, and has been described as one of Yeltsin’s “most trusted aides”, per the Daily Mail.

Her mother is Tatyana Borisovna Yumasheva, Yeltsin’s younger daughter.

The British newspaper said Yumasheva’s father had described Putin to Yeltsin as “a superb candidate”.

“I think you should consider him,” he is reported to have said, in his endorsement of Yeltsin.

Also speaking out against Putin’s war on Ukraine is Russian socialite Sofia Abramovich, the daughter of Chelsea football club owner Roman Abramovich – whose net work is estimated at $12.5 billion.

“The biggest and most successful lie out of the Kremlin propaganda is that most Russians are with Putin,” Abramovich posted to her nearly 60,000 followers on Instagram.

It was a sentiment shared by Ksenia Sobchak, a socialite and former Russian presidential candidate who previously denied being Putin’s goddaughter.

She wrote on Instagram: “The main topic – a real conflict with Ukraine, in which no one, including me, believed until the last”.

“When Russia recognized (sic) the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass, it seemed that this was already a kind of intermediate finish.”
