Multiple American B-2 stealth bombers are airborne and heading towards the Pacific Ocean, according to reports.
The advanced aircraft, which took off from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, could be equipped to carry the 1.3 tonne bunker-buster bombs, potentially capable of destroying Iran’s underground nuclear facility in Fordo.
Open-source flight trackers showed the planes are heading towards the US territory of Guam in the Pacific Ocean, possibly signalling that the US is preparing for a strike on the Iranian site, The New York Times reported.
Two US officials confirmed the move to Reuters, but it is not clear whether the bomber deployment is tied to Middle East tensions.
