Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are trying to save their marriage, as rapper shares video from their private holiday

As he tries to save his marriage to Kim Kardashian, rapper and presidential candidate Kanye West has given a rare and candid look at his home life.

Kanye and Kim: how the ultimate celeb couple went from fairytale to crisis

As Kanye West deals with the fallout of a tumultuous few weeks, the rapper has shared a video to Twitter showing him enjoying some downtime with his family.

The rapper and sneaker billionaire reportedly posted the clip from the Dominican Republic were he is said to be holidaying with his children and wife Kim Kardashian, as the pair attempt to save their troubled marriage.

In the video, which appears to have been shot by Kardashian, the family is seen riding in a golf cart which West hops off and begins to dance to the song, Friday Dance.

North joins her dad in dancing alongside the moving cart as Kardashian can be heard laughing in the background.

In the candid footage, West is sporting bleached hair, which many Twitter users were keen to point out mirrors a lyric from the Jesus Is King track On God: “I bleached my hair for every time I could’ve died”.

Last week, People reported that West, 43, and Kardashian, 39, had decided to take a holiday together so they could spend some time in “private” with their family.

Sources told the magazine that Kardashian is “exhausted,” claiming “between the kids, work, and dealing with Kanye’s bipolar episodes, it’s been hard for her to think clearly.”

KANYE ‘TO TAKE VOTES OFF BIDEN’

Meanwhile, West has apparently admitted to running a so-called “spoiler” campaign to take away votes from Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

In an interview with Forbes via text message, the rapper claimed he wasn’t running for president but “walking”, which he quickly followed up by saying he was “walking … to win.”

West wouldn’t say who is helping him get on ballots, or whether or not he is receiving help with his 2020 bid from Republican officials.

Although the rapper was hesitant to criticise US President Donald Trump, he quickly pounced on Biden and expressed comfort with the idea of hurting the former vice president’s chances of sitting in the Oval Office.

“I’m not denying it; I just told you,” said West.

When it was pointed out that he won’t be on enough ballots to win 270 electoral votes or win the election through write-ins is impossible, thus making his campaign a spoiler, he replied: “I’m not going to argue with you. Jesus is King.”

But he did reveal his ongoing relationship with the White House and claimed he’s “designing a school within the next month.”

“I’m meeting with Betsy DeVos about the post-COVID curriculum,” he added.

The Secretary of Education’s press office didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Forbes.

Forbes brought up the hurried effort to get him on states’ presidential ballots and the allegations of forged signatures, claiming that it didn’t feel like a move made at the rapper’s behest.

West simply replied that the effort was a “God production.”

Late last week, West appeared to respond to the Forbes interview on Twitter.

He tweeted: “THE GOAL IS TO WIN.”

The rapper’s comments came a day after Mr Trump said he “liked” West, but insisted he hasn’t helped him get on the presidential ballot in any states.

“I like him. He’s always been very nice to me,” he said of West.

“I get along with him very well, I like him, I like his wife.”

When asked at a press briefing about claims that West is being helped by Republican operatives in his efforts to get on swing state ballots, he said: “No, not at all.”

Mr Biden has been at the centre of controversy in the US for his comments that black Americans did not have diverse attitudes.

“Unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly diverse attitudes about different things,” Mr Biden said. “You go to Florida, you find a very different attitude about immigration than you do in Arizona. So it’s a very diverse community.”

West filed for the presidential ballot in Arkansas on Monday with a “biblical life coach” as his vice president amid the forgery claims.

He reportedly submitted the 1000 required signatures for Arkansas just minutes before the 12pm deadline, but missed the Kansas deadline, which required 5000 signatures.

West has officially missed the deadlines in New York and Maryland but has filed to run in both Vermont and West Virginia, according to TMZ.

‘REALLY GOOD GUY’

Meantime, Caitlyn Jenner is standing by West, describing him as a “really good guy” in a new TV interview.

Amid speculation over the rapper’s marriage to Jenner’s former stepdaughter Kardashian, Jenner said: “I hope for the best for him,” Jenner said during an appearance on Good Morning Britain on Monday (local time). “He’s a really good guy.”

Jenner, who was previously married to Kardashian’s mother Kris Jenner, added that West had been there for her since announcing she was transgender in 2015, the New York Post reports.

“The only thing I can talk about is really how he treated me through everything,” Jenner said.

“He has been the most kind, loving human being and so good to me throughout the years and especially going through everything I’ve been going through in the last five years.

“He’s been such a good friend.”

Since West has been living on his Wyoming ranch during his numerous public outbursts and his attempt at a presidential bid, Jenner admitted she hasn’t had an inside view of what’s happening.

“Since all of this has come down, I have just kind of watched it just like everyone else,” she said.

Despite previously joking about running as West’s vice president, Jenner responded when asked if he would make a good president, “I don’t even want to discuss or talk about politics anymore.”

BIEBER REACHES OUT TO KANYE

It also emerged that pop superstar Justin Bieber was the person who urged West to reach out to Kardashian, and “stop ghosting” his estranged wife.

The Sorry singer recently visited West at his Wyoming ranch and told the troubled rapper he “needed to talk” to Kardashian, People magazine reports.

Bieber visited West with his wife Hailey, according to a friend, “to make sure Kanye is doing well”.

The 43-year-old West had reportedly been avoiding contact with his wife of six years after a series of online outbursts in which the rapper claimed he had been “trying to get divorced” from the Kardashian “for years”, inferred the reality star cheated on him, and accused her of trying to get a “doctor to lock [him] up”.

West also announced to the world during a shambolic political rally that the couple had considered aborting their oldest daughter, North, which left Kardashian “deeply hurt”.

Kardashian visited West briefly in an emotional reunion at the family’s Wyoming ranch, but flew back to Los Angeles alone.

West has been open about his struggles with bipolar disorder and Kardashian asked the public to have "compassion” for the “brilliant but complicated” star.
People reported that it was “important” for Bieber to support West, given his own issues with mental health.

“Justin struggled for so long himself before he got proper help,” a source told People, adding that he’s been “extremely supportive” of West.

Bieber and wife Hailey’s visit to the $A20 million ranch was made public after one of West’s friends shared a video to Instagram.

West later shared a photo of “JB” sitting and chatting with Damon Dash, another of the billionaire’s inner circle.

KIM AND KANYE REUNITE IN CRISIS TALKS

Kardashian and West were pictured together for the first time in weeks recently, amid speculation about the future of their marriage.

The reunion took place in Wyoming, where the Jesus Is King rapper has been based as he mounts a campaign for the White House.

The pair were pictured during an emotional and tense meeting in West’s car that left the Keeping Up With the Kardashian star in tears.

Their private reunion followed West’s Twitter meltdown, where he accused Kardashian of infidelity and “white supremacy” after the rapper said the reality star tried to “lock [him] up”, and claimed West wanted to abort daughter, North.

The couple were seen having an intense conversation, with Kardashian clearly distressed as she spoke with her husband face-to-face for the first time in weeks.

The couple – who share children North, 7, Saint, 4, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 1 – were pictured in the car, after leaving fast-food restaurant Wendy’s in Wyoming where West owns a $A20 million ranch.

Kardashian, 39, was later seen arriving home in Los Angeles alone after a “very difficult” trip to see her husband, TMZ reports.

It came as a source told People magazine that Kardashian is “very emotional about everything, and also exhausted”.

“She feels very hurt by Kanye. She has tried to reach him multiple times and he just ignores her. It’s all a bad situation,” the source said.

“She decided to fly to Cody to speak with him in person. She doesn’t want to be ignored anymore.”

Amid West’s troubles, Kardashian wrote via Instagram that she was “powerless” to help her troubled husband, calling him “brilliant but complicated”.

Kardashian’s family are reportedly “shielding the kids” from the drama surrounding West’s erratic behaviour and bipolar disorder.

“She is shielding the kids. All of her family is. They’ve circled around the kids and are insulating them from all of this,” a source reportedly told People magazine.

“And everyone else has decided to create an atmosphere of normalcy around them.

“They don’t need to see such a public meltdown.”

KANYE’S PRESIDENTIAL BID

Kanye West has filed to appear on the New Jersey ballot for November’s federal election, state documents show.

According to the New York Post, the rapper collected 1327 signatures — surpassing the 800 required by the deadline for independent presidential candidates.

West has also submitted the necessary paperwork to appear on Missouri’s ballot and is eyeing to do the same in New York.

He’ll need 30,000 signatures by Thursday’s deadline.

The presidential wannabe has vowed to run under the self-style Birthday Party, though paperwork in New Jersey lists his slogan as “pending.”

West announced he was running for president in a July 4 tweet — followed by a hysterical first campaign rally in North Carolina.

Earlier this month, he filed the $35,000 ($A46,000) fee to appear on the ballot in Oklahoma and Statement of Organisation paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.

COULD KANYE REALLY BE PRESIDENT?

If West’s bid for president continues it has the potential to up-end the November election.

While his late entry into the race makes it all-but impossible for the controversial billionaire mogul to snare the top job, he could move enough votes to sway the outcome, says election law expert professor Justin Levitt.

“He won’t get a lot of votes, but it won’t take a lot to have a big impact,” said Professor Levitt from the Loyola Law School in California.

“I don’t know whether he’ll draw support from (Democrat Joe) Biden or from (President Donald) Trump or whether people who weren’t planning to vote for either might try to vote for Kanye just for a giggle.

“But unfortunately the election is close and, in any number of swing states, a small amount of chaos could cause a large amount of chaos nationally.”

West’s first campaign rally at an event centre in South Carolina sparked political and personal controversy.

He was slammed for falsely claiming that revered African American abolitionist Harriet Tubman hadn’t freed slaves during the 1800s.

And his tearful comments about his late mother and wife’s abortion preceded a social media storm in which he said Kardashian was trying to have him “locked up”.

Kardashian was photographed by paparazzi filming Keeping up with the Kardashians in Malibu the day after posting her statement on Instagram asking for privacy.

And West was spotted on a Walmart run with music producer Damon Dash the same day.

Dash was one of several of his associates to state the mogul was far from “crazy” during the week.

“People think he lost his mind just because he cried. The way he lost his mind and jumped on a jet and then jumped off the jet to come back to his 40,000-acre ranch? Yeah, I’d like to lose my mind like that,” Dash told The New York Post.

Dash said West didn’t care what the Kardashians had to say.

“There’s definitely people around him that love him and he’s going to be all right. We are praying, we are working. People think like we are in an insane asylum [but] we got an album coming out,” he said.

“People watched the rally and think he’s crazy, but that’s how the average person thinks. Everyone that listens to him [who thinks] he’s crazy is not a billionaire. But some reason Elon Musk doesn’t think he’s crazy. I don’t think he’s crazy. Billionaires don’t think it’s crazy because he talks that billi talk. And most people don’t talk that talk. He speaks like the general to people that are generally soldiers.”

Although he started his run late and has missed several deadlines to file for several states, West could still impact the results of November’s presidential race said Prof Levitt, who is a constitutional law scholar and former deputy assistant attorney general.

“It might not take a lot to throw further chaos into what is already a fairly chaotic election,” he said.

“To the extent that voters might have been looking for a narcissistic megalomaniac; they have that choice already.

“In a normal year, a celebrity candidate with the message of: ‘What do you have to lose? The system’s a joke. Just vote for me”, might actually pick up steam.

Prof Levitt said West’s bid was the most prominent of about 600 independents who have filed the necessary paperwork to run.

“There’s a lot of company for him,” said Prof Levitt.

“Some people are running because they really believe there’s a path to becoming president. Some people are running because they want the publicity. Some people are running it because they want the attention, even without the publicity. Some people are running as a joke. And I think all of that is just useful in keeping his running perspective. He’s running, but so are a lot of people.”

Prof Levitt warned West’s wealth and chaotic approach could also present potential issues.

“When you’re officially running for president, you have to follow official rules in how you will run for president,” he said.

“That means that the money you spend has to be raised in accordance with those rules. He has plenty of money himself and he can spend that money himself. But I don’t actually know the structure of the money he has, whether he has that money invested in a corporation or a management entity of some kind.

“And I don’t know the extent to which other people have wanted to give him money. And all of that is actually federally regulated and can lead to some trouble.

“One of the ways in which people get into trouble repeatedly is running afoul of the campaign finance laws.”
