Traffic jams in London sent the one-day international between England and the West Indies into chaos and led to the British cricketers hiring Lime bikes or catching the tube to try and speed up their arrival.
The beginning of the third one-day international clash between England and West Indies was sent into disarray on Tuesday morning after it was revealed the players in both teams were trapped on clogged roads while sitting on their respective team buses.

The West Indies were jammed in heavy traffic for nearly two hours and arrived at the ground after the scheduled coin toss.
On the Brits’ official English cricket account on X they had to inject some humour into the frustrating situation, posting footage of the players wearing their tracksuits, beanies and their backpacks strapped on while cycling their way through London’s streets with the lyrics added, “get out the way, get out the way”.
Road closures caused the traffic carnage for the teams coming up against each other at The Oval in Kennington, south London, and delayed the scheduled 1pm (10pm AEST) start time.
Among the English players to opt for two wheels included Harry Brook, Brydon Carse and Matthew Potts who all ditched the team bus to get to the ground much quicker.
The route from the West Indies’ hotel – located about 6km from The Oval – was dogged by traffic woes and the team posted on X: “Due to heavy traffic delays, our team arrived moments before the previously scheduled toss time”.
