Donald Trump will imminently meet with Vladimir Putin as part of a leaked 100 day peace plan. It comes as Ukraine sends a delegation to Washington’s largest Christian gathering.

Donald Trump expects for the war in Ukraine to be over by Easter according to a leaked copy of his alleged 100 day peace plan which is doing the rounds of “political and diplomatic circles”.

Ukrainian outlet Strana obtained a copy of the report which outlines the steps Mr Trump would take to smooth the road to peace.

The first step involves a phone call between Putin and Mr Trump in “late January or early February”.

This would be followed by an in-person meeting between the pair in February or March.

This timeline matches up with comments both Presidents have made publicly on the matter.

“I think from what I hear, Putin would like to see me. We’ll meet as soon as we can,” Trump said at the White House on January 23.

“It would be better for us to meet, based on the realities of today, to talk calmly on all those areas that are of interest to both the United States and Russia,” Putin said in an interview broadcast on Russian television on January 24.

Easter this year falls on April 20.

By that time according to Strana, Mr Trump expects the ceasefire to have been agreed upon.

As well as Russian troops withdrawing from Ukrainian territory, Ukraine would be expected to withdraw its forces from the Russian city of Kursk, parts of which they have seized.

A declaration on the agreed parameters for ceasing hostilities would be released by May 9.

Other stipulations in the leaked plan include Ukraine refraining from joining NATO.

However they will be put on a pathway to join the European Union who will be expected to assist Ukraine in their reconstruction efforts.

Kyiv is expected to join the EU by 2030.

Sanctions on Russia by the US will be relaxed and Ukraine is expected to make a number of “concessions”.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has lashed out at the report.

“‘Russia’s war is against Ukraine, against Europe, against the whole world, but above all, the war is waged on our land. It is impossible to exclude Ukraine from any negotiating platform,” Mr Zelenskyy said.

“Either this negotiating platform will have no real results, or it will have only political results. And such results will have nothing to do with security or the end of the war.

“I would really like the European voice to be there as well. It is important for us because we will be members of the European Union.

“But I can’t say clearly today what the structure of the negotiation process will be. Because we do not have a joint plan yet.”

Strana, the Ukrainian media outlet who obtained the report, has previously come under fire for reporting what many Ukrainians believe to be Russian propaganda.

Ukraine is continuing its own diplomacy sending more than 100 Christian priests and politicians meeting with their American counterparts at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington DC on Thursday.

Mr Trump spoke at the event which has been held since 1953 and serves as an opportunity for religious groups to meet with like minded politicians and business leaders.

“Russia doesn’t just kill people, doesn’t just destroy our cities — Russia also destroys and bans religious communities,” Ukrainian politician Roman Lozynskyi told the New York Times.

Many Ukrainians are devoutly Christian and they claim Russia has been deliberately targeting their churches and parishes.
