‘Never 51’: Canada’s new Prime Minister fires shot at Donald Trump
Canada’s new Prime Minister has employed a Hollywood A-Lister to fire a not-so-subtle shot in Donald Trump’s direction just days into his tenure.
Donald Trump has slammed a portrait of himself hanging in Colorado’s State Capitol as “purposefully distorted”, demanding the state’s Governor Jared Polis take it down immediately.
“Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all the other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before,” the President wrote on Truth Social.
“The artist also did President Obama, and he looks wonderful, but the one on me is truly the worst. She must have lost her talent as she got older.”
Meanwhile, bizarre footage of Elon Musk has gone viral on social media, showing the unofficial Trump adviser playing with his cutlery while seated next to the President during dinner at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
And Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called a snap federal election on April 28, claiming he needs a strong mandate to address US President Donald Trump’s tariffs.
“I’ve just requested that the governor-general dissolve parliament and call an election for April 28. She has agreed,” Mr Carney said, referring to King Charles III’s representative in Canada, a member of the British Commonwealth
Speaking in Ottawa on Sunday, Mr Carney said the elections, which were previously scheduled October 20, needed to be pushed up in the face of the Trump administration.
“We are facing the most significant crisis of our lifetimes because of President Trump’s unjustified trade actions and his threats to our sovereignty,” Mr Carney said.
