A witness has claimed “no one was supposed to die” in a fatal Adelaide shooting on the weekend, with terrifying footage emerging of the moment a shot rang out.
Troy Jacka died after allegedly being shot by a gun in his possession outside a home on Stebonheath Rd in the suburb of Munno Para West around 11pm on Saturday.
According to SA Police, a struggle had occurred between two men at the house, after one of them made threats with a firearm that was then discharged. An investigation into the incident is underway. No charges have been made in the shooting.
The victim’s son Jayden’s ex-girlfriend, Emma Pearce, lives at the address where the incident occurred. Speaking to 9 News, Ms Pearce claimed her “whole house was destroyed” earlier on Saturday by unknown perpetrators.
“My son’s room was smashed up. I don’t have (a) window in my house. My doors were kicked in. I have no locks,” she said.
“And I had $1400 stolen from me.”

Later that night, Ms Pearce was allegedly involved in a fight with Mr Jacka – who she had feuding with since her break-up with Jayden – and others at the nearby Smithfield Hotel.
The run-in led to Mr Jacka coming to her home, Ms Pearce said.
“There was a car that drove straight through my fence and a shotgun pointed straight at me,” she said.
“I froze for a second. Everyone was screaming at me.”
Horror video, shared with 9, then showed the moment a gunshot rang out.
Ms Pearce, who had been hiding in her laundry, “heard screaming and I went out to my ex-boyfriend’s dad dead in my driveway”.
“No one was supposed to die that night,” she added. “There was no intentions of anyone dying that night.”
In an interview with 9News earlier this week, the victim’s daughter, Thalia Jacka, warned those involved that “revenge is coming”.
Ms Jacka alleged that her father and brother had been ambushed by a group that included Ms Pearce at the Smithfield Hotel, and later “died protecting his son – like any father would”.
As a result of investigations, police arrested two women and a man in relation to the reported Smithfield Hotel disturbance, believed to be linked to the Munno Para West incident.
A 21-year-old woman from Blakeview was arrested and charged with affray and act likely to cause harm, a 22-year-old woman from Munno Para West and a 31-year-old man from Campbelltown were both arrested and charged with affray.
The trio was served a three-month liquor licence barring order, excluding them from the hotel, and have been bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on the September 9.
Ms Jacka said her father’s death was yet to “sink in”, and that she hoped justice would be served to those responsible.
“Revenge is coming. And it’s gonna happen,” she said.
“Either the police do it or we’re gonna do it ourselves. It’s just how it’s gonna go.”
