As the desperate search for Cleo Smith enters its eighth day, her mum Ellie Smith has shared a heartbreaking post on social media.

She posted a picture of her four-year-old daughter on Instagram with details of the $1 million reward that has been offered to anyone with information on the missing girl.

It included the following plea, which urged people to call Crimestoppers: “ANY INFORMATION BIG OR SMALL FIND MY LITTLE GIRL,” Ms Smith wrote.

Cleo disappeared from her family’s Blowholes campsite in remote Western Australia in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

Police have conceded in the days since it’s likely she was abducted.

Appearing on 7 News on Friday, Cleo’s best friend Naya also issued a plea of her own.

The young girl said she “misses (Cleo) a lot now she’s lost”.

“I want her to come back. She needs to come home because she needs to be with her family,” she told the broadcaster.

Alongside a drawing of Cleo asking if anyone recognised her to bring her home, Naya wrote in a note: “Dear Cleo, can you please come back for a little while and come to my nan’s. I miss you, I hope you are alright. Love, Naya.”

Police launch fresh appeal for dashcam footage

Police launched a fresh appeal for any dashcam or CCTV footage recorded last weekend within a whopping 1000km radius of the campsite.

Detectives are “particularly interested” in motel check-in and communal areas, service stations, fast food outlets and truck stops, as well as children’s clothing stores and pharmacies.

Cleo was last seen by her parents at about 1.30am on Saturday. Her mother, Ellie Smith, woke around 6am to discover her daughter was missing from the family’s tent.

In an “urgent announcement” to be played WA radio stations, police requested vision from between 6pm on Friday October 15 and 6pm on Sunday October 17.

“Police need your help to find Cleo Smith,” the announcement said.

“In the early hours of Saturday the 16th of October, little Cleo vanished from her tent at the Blowholes, near Carnarvon.

“Now the state government is offering $1 million reward. Can you help find her?

“The four-year-old was wearing a pink onesie. She was wrapped in a sleeping bag. Now, she’s gone.

“Please help us find her. Any information, call Crime Stoppers.”

In a bleak update on Friday morning, the top detective investigating Cleo’s disappearance said the details around the case “don’t get any worse”.

Detective Superintendent Rod Wilde from WA Police spoke on the Today show where he revealed that, despite almost a week of searching the area where she vanished, the hunt for the missing four-year-old “hasn’t led us anywhere”.

“So that, gathered with some of the evidence that we have gained from the tent and the surrounds there, has led us to believe that possibly someone else was involved in her disappearance,” he said.

“The team is working around the clock to investigate all of those leads and we are hopeful that that may lead us to discovering where Cleo is.”

He added that there were still no suspects, but he was hoping that would change as new information came in.

“There is a lot of information that has come in. So we are going through that methodically. Look, we are hopeful that will lead us to discovering where she is,” he said.

He also spoke about the impact of the disappearance on Cleo’s family.

“Look, it doesn’t get any worse,” he said. “We know that. We really feel for the parents.”
