Jeremy Cameron has not only been dominant for most of his 249-game career, he has also been super consistent.

In just his second season the agile and clever key forward bagged 62 majors, and he is set to pass 50 goals for the sixth time across his fantastic career that doesn’t look like finishing anytime soon.

Cameron’s defining six-goal haul that ultimately won Geelong the game against Adelaide last week marked the 29th time he has slotted five or more in a match

Remarkably, that figure is higher than the amount of times he has been held goalless, which sits at just 25.

But it isn’t just the 629 goals he has kicked, with his elite running capacity and pinpoint kicking allows him to win possessions up the ground and create scoring opportunities for his teammates.

As he prepares for his 250th game this weekend, we have narrowed down his five best games — a difficult task, but we’ve given it our best shot.

JEZZA’S BEST FIVE GAMES

5. GWS v Gold Coast, R23 2019

Nine goals, five behinds, 10 disposals, 12 marks, 152 SuperCoach points, three Brownlow votes

Jeremy Cameron needed six goals to win the 2019 Coleman Medal and with the game over at quarter-time, the Giants looked for him at every opportunity. In the end he got there with ease, passing Ben Brown comfortably and finishing with a career-best haul of nine goals, including plenty of trademark snaps on the left. The raw numbers are ridiculous, but the intensity resembled a training drill for most of the contest.

4. GWS v Sydney, 2016 qualifying final

Four goals, four behinds, 13 disposals, six marks

In the Giants’ first final in their history, Jezza stepped up to help them upset arch rivals Sydney in the qualifying final. It wasn’t his biggest game, but it gets extra points given the high stakes. Three consecutive goals in the third quarter with the game in the balance turned the game and helped them run away with a comfortable win.

3. GWS v Collingwood, R18, 2013

7 goals, 11 disposals, five marks, two Brownlow votes

This display stood out above the rest in his All-Australian second season. His goals came from a variety of different avenues: long launches from outside 50, snaps, goals on the run and more at the MCG. What made this performance even better was that the then 20-year-old did it all by himself with little help from his teammates. Cameron kicked seven of their 10 goals that day and assisted another after a blistering run down the wing. Champion Data recognises this as the second highest rated performance in his career and he managed to poll two votes in a 40-point defeat.

2. Geelong v Carlton R2, 2023

Six goals, 25 disposals, 11 score involvements, 149 SuperCoach points

It was the performances that kickstarted a run of form that had experts declaring that Cameron was the best player in the game. Cameron was absolutely everywhere, booting goals from the beyond the paint one minute and the next he was floating back to help in defence. He led their final quarter charge and the Cats would have lost by a lot more if it hadn’t have been for this sparkling performance.

1. GWS v Richmond R3, 2019

Seven goals, 30 disposals, 16 score involvements, 162 SuperCoach points, three Brownlow votes

30 disposals and 7.5 against that year’s premiers? That is as good as it gets for a key forward. This was prime Jeremy Cameron, and it could have been an even bigger day had he kicked straight. He also flew into the sky at Engie Stadium to take a hanger over the top of Tigers defender David Astbury.

AND A COUPLE MORE …

Geelong v Hawthorn R4, 2023

Seven goals, 22 disposals, two goal assists, 156 SuperCoach points, three Brownlow votes

It was virtually Jeremy Cameron vs. Hawthorn in the opening half as the Hawks looked to have their measure. Cameron kicked four of Geelong’s first five goals and continued on his merry way as the Cats dominated the second half. Perhaps the biggest highlight of his day was after his seventh goal, where he went on a careering run straight into the boundary umpire. This is Cameron’s highest rated game as a Cat according to Champion Data.

GWS v Gold Coast, R12, 2018

Six goals, three behinds, 26 disposals, 168 SuperCoach points, three Brownlow votes

Cameron posted 38.3 Champion Data rating points in this one – close to 10 more than his next best total and his career-best SuperCoach score of 168. The Giants had all the running in the 108-point win and Cameron proved unstoppable.
