Waratah Jaga Koduru continues stellar season with unbeaten ton

A weekend that was dominated by the bat saw some mammoth performances by DDCC’s A-grade players. See who made our 1st XI of Round 7.

In a weekend that had more run-outs than caught behinds and a plethora of big scores, Round 7 of the DDCC A-grade competition was as eventful as ever.

See who made our 1st XI of the round below.

ROUND 7

1. AIDAN FIRMAN(Palmerston, Opener)

Thumping a huge 130 off 87 balls, the opener was seeing them like beachballs out at the crease. Firman smashed 13 fours and eight sixes at a strike rate of 149, setting his side up nicely in the victory over PINT.

2. ARYAN JAIN(Waratah, Opener)

The Tah was instrumental in his sides 138-run win over Tracy Village with a neat 87 off 93 deliveries. He hit the rope four times and cleared it on three occasions.

3. CALEB MONTAGUE (Palmerston, Batter)

At nearly a run a ball and falling short of triple figures, Montague scored 92 runs off 96 rocks. He found the boundary 12 times at a strike rate of 95.

4. JAGA KODURU (Waratah, Batter)

Recording his second not-out ton of the season, the Tah’s inspirational captain made 113* from 111 balls. He hit six fours and four maximums, boosting his season batting average to 161.

5. MITCH DOOLAN (PINT, All-rounder)

The all-rounder had a day to remember despite a loss. Doolan wacked 133* off 149, making 13 boundaries and three sixes. He also took two poles with the ball in hand, recording figures of 2/77 from 10 overs.

6. JORDAN ROSSI (Darwin, Batter)

In a losing effort, the batter hit 75 runs off 116 deliveries, hitting five fours and a six.

7. JACKSON ISAKKA(Districts, Batter)

Making a handy 82 runs from 89 rocks in his sides victory over Darwin, Isakka found the rope three times and cleared it on six occasions.

8. CONNOR POULTON (PINT, WK)

In a weekend that saw only one caught behind across the entire A-grade competition, Poulton did snag a stumping behind the wickets but was more impressive with the willow, hitting 69 off 75 balls.

9. SMIT RAVAL (Darwin, Bowler)

Recording the best figures of the round, Raval took 4/36 off his 9.2 over spell in his team’s loss to Districts.

10. LACHLAN BANGS (Districts, Bowler)

On fire at the weekend, Bangs took figures of 4/48 off his tidy 9 over stint, where he took three catches in the field as well as a caught and bowled.

11. CHRIS MCEVOY (Districts, Bowler)

Working in tandem with bowling partner Bangs, McEvoy took 3/44 off his 10 over spell with no extras.
