Man struck with machete in terrifying St Kilda carjacking
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a man was struck in the head with a machete during a carjacking at the Carlisle St and Barkly St intersection.

A man has been struck in the head with a machete in a terrifying armed carjacking in St Kilda.
The man, 39, was hit in the head with the weapon after refusing to hand over the keys to his car.
Emergency services were called to the incident near the busy intersection of Carlisle St and Barkly St at about 9pm on Sunday.
Investigators said the carjackers — a man and a woman — approached the victim and demanded his car keys before assaulting him.
They then fled on foot, with police searching the area but unable to locate either offender.
The victim, a 39-year-old St Albans man, was taken to the Alfred Hospital with non-threatening upper body injuries.
Police arrested a 15-year-old boy at Southern Cross Railway Station at about 12.30pm on Monday and he is currently in custody.
The female offender — who had dark hair, was wearing a white hoodie with a black Hoodrich puffer vest, and black pants — is still at large.
