Melbourne is gearing up for the race that stops the nation at 3pm on Tuesday.

For the Melburnians who won’t be trackside to watch the race live, many local pubs and restaurants are hosting Cup Day specials so no one misses out.

Melbourne pubs and hotels are offering some amazing deals to get you out of your house.

If the pub isn’t your thing but you would like to watch the race, Federation Square will be broadcasting the Melbourne Cup on its giant screen. Deckchairs and umbrellas will be set up for visitors.

There will be plenty of food and beverage giveaways around the square for the big four race days — Derby Day, Melbourne Cup, Oaks, and Stakes Day.

If you couldn’t score any tickets to the Melbourne Cup, but still desperate to get dressed up, grab a drink and watch the race, here are 12 Melbourne pubs, hotels and bars running Cup Day specials this year.
