The body of a boy who fell from a tinny on Lake Mulwala is believed to have been recovered at Kyffins Bay late on December 15.
NSW Police confirmed that they recovered a body at 6:30 PM in Kyffins Bay on Thursday, just north of the Victorian-NSW border.
While NSW Police announced they were yet to formally identify the body, it is believed to be the body of 16-year-old Jack Bird.
The announcement comes after a large-scale search effort conducted by Victoria and NSW police after the boy went missing on Sunday when a tinny carrying two teenagers capsized on Lake Mulwala.
Specialist rescue divers, VicPol water police, NSW Marine Area Command and Corowa VRA were all involved in the five-day long search.
