Two men are fighting for life in hospital after their car careened off the road, crashing into a brick fence and a power pole on the Gold Coast overnight.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Tallai Rd at Tallai at about 10.20pm on Wednesday.
A silver Ford falcon with two male occupants had veered off the road, crashing through a brick fence and into a power pole, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.
Both occupants were rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said the impact caused the power lines attached to the pole to hang low.
A spokeswoman for Energex said the power pole was not Energex infrastructure so there was no network outage as a result of the incident.
