Reliving the horror of finding his daughter’s body on a beach near Cairns, Toyah Cordingley’s dad has shared a heartfelt tribute to his daughter in the lead-up to Christmas.

THE father of Queensland murder victim Toyah Cordingley has made a heart wrenching appeal in the lead up to Christmas.

In a Facebook post, Troy Cordingley relived the horror of finding his daughter’s body on Wangetti beach, near Cairns, on October 22.

“After 4-5 hrs of searching with others, I found her body on the beach,” he said.

“Toyah is my only child. Finding her body has burnt an indelible image in my mind. It is something a father should never have to suffer.”

The distraught dad goes on to recall happier moments he shared with Ms Cordingley including as a child playing in his back yard, birthday parties and Christmases.

“Toyah grew into a beautiful, caring young woman. We are all so proud of that,” he wrote.

“Toyah and I shared a love that only a father and daughter can understand. I feel lost and empty inside but will always have the wonderful memories of those 24 years.

“24 years, she should have had so many more.”

Mr Cordingley ended the message by thanking police, the SES and the community for “working hard to find who committed this horrific act against an innocent young woman”.

The investigation into Ms Cordingley’s murder has turned into an international search for former Innisfail Hospital nurse Rajwinder Singh.

Currently a person of interest in the chilling case Mr Singh abruptly left his job and flew out of Cairns the day Ms Cordingley’s body was found.

The married father of three flew to Sydney and stayed with his sister before flying to India the next day, his family have said.
